Travel Is Confirmed

It's official! We're leaving Friday, July 25 at 7:43AM. We fly from Cincinnati to Chicago, Chicago to Beijing, then from Beijing to Xi'an. It should take about 24 hours to get there because we have a 5 hour layover in Chicago and a 3 hour layover in Beijing. But because Xi'an is 13 hours ahead of us, it will be 8:00PM, Saturday, July 26 in Xi'an when we get there. My plan is to stay awake the entire 24 hours....that's how I'm going to beat the jet lag. :)

All of us at the bus stop are so excited for you through your Mom. What a blessing for your family. He looks like a charmer and appears well taken care of. We can't wait to meet him when he comes home for our kids can have a playdate! Bring Grandma too! Have a safe and exciting trip!

Hey MC - I just got the e-mail from Marie (I'm her husband!) - and can't wait to follow your adventure! Where in China is Xi'an - province or direction wise? Remember - family's that adopt Internationally are all connected - the red thread and all that - so tell anyone at home if they need anything at all - well we are literally 'right around the corner'! That's what Julie and I did - we stayed awake the whole 24 hours worth of flights and then got to Beijing and did some wandering. However, we fell asleep about 7pm that night and woke up at 4am ready to go! If you take no-jet lag pills (you can find them at any pharmacy) and follow the instructions, that helps a lot. I can't wait to follow your story!
